A rented shop turned into a space with a vibe.
The brief was simple: create a workspace with a vibe, on a rented-shop budget. Rather than fight the shell, the design leans into it — a mint-and-white striped feature wall, a leather bean bag, a live-edge wood-slab coffee table on hairpin legs, and a woven rattan pendant light turn the entry into an informal reading corner where books like Good to Great sit ready to hand.
Sourced timber, cut into shelves and discs, does the coaching before you do.
Timber logs — sourced rather than bought new to keep costs down — were sliced into long shelves and individual discs and mounted across two walls. Each one holds a small glass bottle of layered coloured sand and a handwritten quote card, some borrowed from Henry Ford and Steve Jobs, turning the walls themselves into the first lesson anyone reads on the way in.
